Hi everyone, I have a question about the visitor record. I just recently applied to the BC PNP to be nominated for PR through the province. However application times are 2-3 months, and my current PGWP will expire on September 18. I recently got a job offer (with 3 month probation period) so, I can't apply for a work permit through them yet. I also cannot apply for a bridging work permit before getting my nomination through the province. So, if I apply for a visitor record before my PGWP expires, and my application is still being processed after my PGWP expires, can I still work in Canada? How about once I get the visitor record? Will I become a visitor who cannot work or can I maintain my status as a worker?

I'm just trying to find a way to be able to work until I get a nomination through the province. Thanks!

You will be a visitor who cannot work while you are waiting for the visitor record to be approved. You will need to stop working as soon as your PGWP expires.

The same will apply once you get the visitor record approved. You will be able to remain in Canada as a visitor but you will not be able to work.
