Hi,

Me and my Spouse wanted to process for SP and SOWP together.
I heard lot of pros/cons about processing SP and SOWP together.

Spouse Applying for Masters (She holds Masters in India already)
12 Yrs of Education Group
10+ Yrs of Industry experience
Applying from India for MS security specialization

Me and my spouse are married for 9+yrs and have 5+yrs old son.
We wanted to know few details like

how much funds we need to show to apply, I think GIC and tuition fees for her

Do I need to maintain an minimum balance in my account for some months before processing for SOWP ?

She already has a master's and 10 years of experience, so why does she need to do another master's in Canada? You're more likely than not to be refused if it looks like you're just trying to immigrate as a family, which it currently does.

Is it a logical progression in hers career? If it isn't then the officer would refuse such application. Did you try seeing Express entry? You might have enough points to apply already

Thanks for your reply. She is planning to pursue MS in cybersecurity which will benefit for her carrier.
Not Computer science and engineering which she already pursued.

Master in cybersecurity which might enhance the carrier plans in future. that was the intent to apply for MS

Yeah we tried last year and stand at 445 CRS score. Which might not benefit at this moment. Even applied for couple of PNP programs, No luck so far.

Does she have a specific plan for her career? Like does she want to work in cybersecurity instead of computer science? As to my knowledge, there is no specific requirement to hold a degree in cybersecurity if she wants to work in that field, thus master of comp sci+engineering should be enough. Do you or/and your wife have high IELTS? Language is perfect way to improve score

Yeah she do have specific plan for her carrier.
Please let me know if any details on SOWP ?

Each case is different, but in general SP should have enough finances to support themselves even if SOWP would not be approved. If SP has enough motivations to return back home after studies then you can apply together with SOWP. If not, then applying together decreases chances. Our case was that my husband wanted to support me emotionally for the duration of my studies and he was my co-sponsor (he has a business and works distantly) and he stated that working is not a priority for him but staying with me for as long as needed while I study is. But once again, it worked with us because I was already studying in the US and we were apart for 3 years and for my last year he received a corresponding visa to stay with me there

Hmm thanks for your response, I understand SOP reflects our intent of application.
