My spouse is on ICT-Work Permit(closed) and I received Open Work Permit. We both work in Tier-1 Job(tech). Our WP and Visa will expire on Feb-2026.
Now I have a question on how I can get my Spousal Open Work Permit extended. I know that I can apply SOWP along with my spouse ICT extension application but the problem is, her employer will going to file her ICT extension and as per her employer policy they will only apply Visitor Visa for me and not SOWP in any circumstances. I have to apply it on my own. Also her employer will apply extension 1-2 months prior to her visa validity i.e. in Dec-25 or Jan-26 and not early. So it is not possible for me to wait for my spouse extension approval as my status may go invalid and I have to stop doing my job. My employer will not allow any break for me.
Now my question is, How I can apply my SOWP extension in this case? As I cannot apply my SOWP application along with my spouse ICT Visa extension application due to her employer restrictions.
Can I file a separate application? If yes then do I need to file my SOWP extension/new SOWP only when my spouse's extension will be filed or I can do it without her ICT extension application.
e.g. is it possible to apply my SOWP in Sep-25 however my spouse extension will go in month of Dec-25 or Jan-26?
