So, I've been reading around, and perhaps I'm not looking in the right place, but I can't find a direct answer for me. So, to put it simply-

My father was born in Canada in 1954. He moved to the U.S. in the 70's and has been a permanent resident ever since. My birth date is 1985 and I was born in the U.S.

Am I a Canadian citizen?

Thanks!

Yes, you need to apply for proof of citizenship. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/proof.asp
