I checked my application status (after 1 full year, in FEB 2014) and it just says IN PROCESS. It does not give me any update of CIC getting my RQ documents that I sent over 6 months ago... I assume the courier package I sent has arrived where it was suppose to go, especially as I did not get a reminder asking for the required RQ documents... Can anyone please tell me if I sent it to the right place?

Took my friend 24 months to finalize his process so pls expect another 12 months. Pre-test RQ is always better than post-test RQ so consider yourself a lucky one.

You have to send your RQ to the address they asked you to. The Sydney postal stamp means your RQ has been issues by CPC-Sydney, which is much better than to get it from the local office. It suggests that the RQ was triggered by some generic indicators and they most likely don't suspect you of a fraud. However, you can always call the CIC to confirm if your RQ has been received. Alternatively you can order ATIP notes for your case, it will have a note about the RQ receipt. The former is faster though.

i dont think there is such thing as better RQ from CPC-Sydney than local office. All RQs are bad.

All post/at-test RQ's are issued by local offices and they are the worst. If the local offices issues it even before the test, chances are it fell through the screen of the CPC-Sydney in terms of generic RQ indicators and the local office saw something in your file that they didn't like. In this case the are likely suspecting you of something specific. I'd argue it's worse than being handed an RQ "just in case".

i was just referring to before test RQ.
I got RQ before test from local Vancouver office. It seems like my timeline is not any worse than others.
haha i actually thought that pre test RQ are all from local office. I know that after test or at test RQ are quite bad.
I hardly see any RQ cases before test here in this forum which require people to submit RQ doc to CPC Sydney.

Really? If you still have the envelop from your RQ request letter, take look at the postal code on the stamp. You may be surprised. CPC Sydney does not process RQ's, they only send requests asking to submit them to a specific local office where your file also gets transferred. This is what happened in my case: CPC Sydney issues an RQ to be sent to St. Clair CIC where my files sits ever since. And my case is typical, not an exception.
