Hello ^^
i was wondering about some questions, long story short- i am a PR in quebec(got it a week ago), im 16 years old, and i have a friend who lives in brazil and wishes to come and visit me..
so, here are my questions:
1. he says he needs an invitation letter from someone who lives in canada... is it possible for a minor as myself to send such thing?
2. What proof of relation could I send him? we're only friends...
3. my friend lives in north Brasil, and as for now- we found out that there's only one canadian embassy in brasil- in the south.
will he have to go all the way south to give the biometric info and pass the interview?
4. he's planning to come for 1 month.. if he likes it here, is it possible to get him a student visa? is it easy? will he get it if he goes to a regular language school?

Thanks a lot!

To be approved for a student visa, your friend will first have to be accepted by a school. He will also have to prove that he has enough money to pay for his studies and has no plans to remain in Canada long term.

He will likely have to show a bank balance somewhere between $20K and $30K to be approved for a student visa.

Also, it is unlikely that a student visa will be approved for a language class. He should be applying to a college or university if he wants a good chance of the visa being approved.

Then I don't see how it will be possible for him to be accepted into a college or university in Canada. If he wants to attend college or university here, he needs to learn either English or French.

Some universities in Canada have a second language school on the same campus(or are affiliated with ESL schools) and may offer conditional admission and upon successful completion of the ESL class with a passing mark, the student can start first year university.
There are members here who initially came to Canada to study English and later obtained study permits, so I think choosing a reputable ESL school and having adequate funds is helpful.

About the letter of invitation, I doubt being a minor your invitation letter will carry any weight. You are dependent on your parents(do they approve?); who will provide accommodation/living expenses for him/her? I think it's better if your parents also write a letter stating they approve and will be supportive when the friend is in Canada.
