Hi All,

I am new to this section of the forum so please forgive me if I am asking some silly questions or this has been asked before.

Could someone give me a definite answer what are the income requirements if I want to sponsor my dad to come to Canada? (Just me and my dad)

What if I dont meet the requirements? Any other methods to prove my financial ability?

Thanks in advance...

Assuming you have no dependents (i.e. no spouse or children) and assuming your father has no wife or common law partner, you need to meet the minimum income requirements for two people in order to enter the lottery next year to sponsor your father. For 2015 you must have made at least $38,618, for 2016 at least $39,371. The income requirements for 2017 aren't published yet but you can assume they'll be somewhere around $41K. This income must have been made from a job in Canada for all three years and you must have Canadian tax returns to prove you have made this income. If you do not meet these income requirements - they you cannot sponsor your father for PR.
