Hi all,
I am applying for the Express Entry program, but I have several questions regarding my situation in this program. First of all, I made the General Training version of the IELTS twice: one time on February 9th, and a second time on March the 2nd of 2019. The first time I got 9, 9, 7.5 and 6.5 in L, R, S, and W respectively. The second time around I landed 7.5, 8.5, 7.5 and 8.5 in L, R, S, and W respectively. Given the vast discrepancy in my score in writing between my first and second try, I decided to get my first score reexamined, and I got it changed to 7.5 from the original 6.5. This band increase bolstered my CRS by a lot, so now I am enticed to use the results from my first exam over the second one. Is this valid or do I need to present my latest results? The thing is that the drop in my listening score will put me in the same bind that I was before, so I will need to sit the exam a third time.
Finally, I would like to see if someone can orientate me a little bit about my degree. I got a Master's degree in Canada back in 2011. I was entirely funded by the Canadian University I attended (UBC), so I didn't use any scholarship that would force me to go back to my home country (Mexico). I went back to Mexico anyway after I got my degree, but now I am looking to move back to Canada. Do you think that the extra points for having a Canadian degree still apply in my case? I have read nothing against that in the Canada Immigration website, and the CRS calculator seems to provide me with those points, but I was wondering if anybody has further information in this regard. Especially taking into consideration that it has been nearly eight years since I got my degree.
Thanks in advance!
