Software jobs - Fulltime vs Contractor

Hey all,

After getting my PR, what should i expect as a salary package, let's say in a place like Toronto as a Sr.Software Engineer (a lower level than my current role) either
1) in a Full time position
2) or as a contractor.

I heard that contractors make good billing per hr... any idea on how much to expect as a Sr.Consultant ??
any drawbacks of being a contractor ??
