Soft Landing - Travelling without PR Card

Hello everyone, I was planning to move to Canada in March for good but I haven't received PPR yet and my AOR was on March 29th.

I will need sometime to pack my stuff, sell stuff so it would probably take sometime to settle everything up.

When I arrive to TO, I can give an address for my PR card delivery but I will have to come back home without PR card. Would they ask for it? I can do landing paper to come back but wouldn't they ask why I request for landing paper?

I want to move to Canada for good but there is a significant delay that I a m not able to manage.

Would be appreciated to any suggestions.

You can give a Canadian address for your card to be delivered to and then have a family member or friend mail or courier it to you. Average processing time for initial card might be 6-8 weeks.

You cannot board a plane back to Canada without a PR card or a PRTD. Without either you would need to enter via the US / Canada land border with your a COPR assuming you have a US visa.

After a soft landing in theory you have near 3 years before you need to return to Canada, as long as you can still meet the 2 years out of 5 years residency obligation in Canada from initial landing.

Thanks for getting back to me! My cousin lives in Canada and he can mail it to me but I heard that mailing such as id documents are illegal and I believe I can get PRTD but I don't know how I can fly to Turkey from Canada.

They always ask for documentation when I am flying back.
