Soft landing: can I soft land, apply for PR card and return?

We received our PPR on 3rd March. Due to a planned travel, we filed for an extension and got it. The new deadline is 13th April. I have until Dec '18 to enter Canada. My question is regarding soft landing vs hard landing. Following is my plan.

> Soft land around July/August.
> For PR card address, give the address of my wife's friend.
> Go back after 2 weeks.
> Once my wife's friend receives she will courier it back to us and we plan to go to Canada (maybe after Dec 2018/Early-Mid 2019.

Is this possible? Can I do this? Can I soft land, apply for PR card and leave and get it couriered? Enter later?

No problem at all people do these soft landings all the time just make sure you read up about a customs declaration for your goods to follow you will need when doing a soft landing for when you return for good.
