Hi,

After completing a soft landing , my wife and I returned to our home country, We received our PR cards. Recently I found out that my wife is pregnant. Her due date would be sometime in October 2020. She is keen on having her delivery done here in India , rather than in Canada due to family support and other personal reasons which I respect. I would like to know if we could go back to Canada once the baby is born and will they be any issues that could prevent us from going to Canada? Appreciate your feedback.

The short answer is that it may or may not be complicated. It's not possible for any of us to say for certain in advance.

To sponsor your child for PR, either you or your wife will need to be physically in Canada to submit the PR application. In order to bring your child to Canada before your child is a PR, you need to get a TRV approved for your child (or a TRP if the TRV is refused). Based on experiences on this forum, it appears there is around a 50%/50% chance that either a TRV or TRP will be approved. So there's a chance you may have no issues bringing your child to Canada. Also a chance a TRV/TRP will not be approved and you will have to move to Canada ahead of your wife and child to sponsor your child for PR.
