no. you just need your passport and your COPR.

They no longer issue cards...just a letter with the SIN information.

I had a bank refuse my letter (wanting the card) a couple of years ago. Will my permanent one issue a card I wonder? As far as I know citizens get a card when they are just a few years old (again, latest information is at least a year old).

As stated above, they no longer issue SIN cards its now just a letter called confirmation of SIN. It doesn't matter if you are temporary worker, permanent resident or citizen its just a paper now, they no longer issue cards.

Service Canada no longer issues cards for any new SIN recipients (temporary or permanent).
