Social degree?

Hi all,

Is a bachelor in psychology classified as a social degree? To me, psychology appears quite broad.

To be more specific, I saw job advertisements for 'social workers' and it states that I require a social degree. However, in my country (Australia) there is no such thing as a social degree per se. Thus, I was asking if a psychology is a subset of a social degree or is a social degree a degree in itself.

In Canada you can obtain a degree in social work at most universities (this is a separate/different degree from psychology).
