Hey!

So I am sending everything off this morning when things open up. I was just reading through things again and I am confused!!!

"Place all of your documents in a sealed envelope and send them to your sponsor"
It says this on the applicant checklist. When my husband sent me his envelope of stuff I opened it up to make sure nothing was missing. Does that wording just mean "mail it off to your spouse In an envelope" or does it mean "seal it so your spouse doesn’t open it" .... was my opening it a bif "No No"

Also I was reading other peoples posts and it seems like everyone was saying their spouses doctor form was in a heavy duty envelope. My husband was just a white and green paper with his picture, and then visa office and other information..… No envelope.

Applying outland with Rome

It might be sleep exhaustion messing with my mind…. Doing this at 3:45am was a bad idea.

Our medical was also like yours just a piece of paper (white and green) - very thin paper, like the carbon copy kind, with the photos stuck on it - no heavy envelope.

As for the docs - I think the sealed part is more to protect the applicants personal info in the postal system. I don't think you have to submit them sealed. I too would have opened it to check and make sure everything was correct and no signatures were missing. However, my partner and a lived together during the process so i'm not an expert on this.

Thank goodness!

Yeah his doctor thing is the exact same as what you described! So I am glad that not everyone is given it with a heavy duty envelope!

Oooh and that makes sense that they meant seal it for the postal system.

Guess I was just over thinking!

Thank you for your response!

i would not worry too much Katie, just make sure all the signatures r there, all the questions r fillled in (or written not applicale), both checklists r there and required documents, his photos with name dob and date when they were taken, the medical paper, receipt payment,....clearly separate ur forms, the applicant forms and the additional proofs put all in a box or envelope and good luck!!!!

AlieW, u got ur visa, very happy for u!! :) 13 is a lucky number for some ;) will u go together from the beginning or u'll go before? also before ur partner got his visa did they ask proof from ur side of relocation (visa cancellation in ur current country, resigning from ur job if applicable and stuff like that)? thanks

Next Wednesday, barring catastrophe.
It's about the mail, not the order of forms.

I seem to remember having to shuffle the order of things - putting some of my husband's forms in with my stuff (the sponsor), having to change the order according to the final checklist. I couldn't have done this without opening his. I was approved as sponsor rather quickly, and it was sent to Buffalo, so I am assuming it was correct.
