When it comes to detecting illegal substances, medical exams can employ various methods such as blood, urine, and hair tests. These tests are designed to identify the presence of certain compounds, including those found in marijuana. It's worth noting that being transparent with healthcare professionals about your substance use is important for accurate assessments.
If you're seeking more information, platforms like https://releaf.co.uk might provide useful insights into the effects of substances on medical exams. However, the best advice would come from medical experts who can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation.

If you don't know that weed is a legal substance in Canada and has no bearing on your medical exam, you don't have enough intelligence to go beyond a minimum wage job and don't deserve to move/live here. This is a completely separate matter to say, if you were caught driving under the influence of marijuana or in a job where you're not allowed to have weed or alcohol in your system for work purposes. It's not the weed that's illegal, it's how you're using it that is in certain contexts. I have weed the night before my medical exam and here I am.

Hey @Bangisland, it's essential to be upfront during a medical exam. Smoking weed can have various effects on your health, and it's crucial for the medical professional to have accurate information about your habits and any potential substance use.

does smoking weed affect a medical exam? how do they find out illegal substances?
Don't worry, this won't affect your immigration process. As others have pointed out, cannabis is legal here in Canada. And whether you know or not about the cannabis legislation of a foreign country is no indicative of anything other than your level of knowledge about a foreign country's cannabis legislation.
