Hi everyone.

Does anyone know (or is) a smoker who got permanent residence through express entry, or was declined because of the medical exams? I mean they ask for x-ray and the sorts, if you're a smoker then you're definitely not 100% healthy and the lungs could be compromised.

If anyone has any information on this it would be very appreciated :)

Hi,
Chest XRAy is to identify Tuberculosis. during the XRAy if there is complication due to smoking, then CIC will ask for "Furtherance of Medical" seeking clarification and additional tests.
My Medical are in passed state.

You will need to be a chronic smoker for decades to have you lungs damaged. it wont affect your PR application.

I'm a smoker and I've been smoking since I was in grade 7. I did my medical in Calgary and it showed "Passed" status but the application is still in process tho. AFAIK, if you don't have tuberculosis or lung cancer, you should have no problem with you medical.

Hope that helps.
