Hi,

I am from Pakistan. I have a query related to immigration. The name of my father on all of my educational documents is written as INAM UL ISLAM KHAN whereas the name of my father printed on my Passport is MUHAMMAD INAM ISLAM KHAN . Does it make any difference? If it does than should i change name on Passport or on my educational documents? Problem in changing name on educational certificates is that i have like 20 certificates on which i will have to change the name whereas if i go for passport it would be easy as only 1 thing needs to be changed. I need support on this matter on urgent basis. So please anyone out there who can assist me, i'll be grateful.

But problem is that MUHAMMAD is not included in my educational certificates at all. Does that make any difference? Spellings are not the issue.

That was an example, It makes no difference, as Pakistani languages don't translate that well into a roman characters. Stop worrying.

My name "Shehzad", But in the my last degree M.Com , its written as "ShAhzad" i.e A instead of E. Does this difference is acceptable in the Canadian immigration?
I have applied and completing my documents after acknowledgement.
Please guide.

It could create an issue with CIC. One way is to change your father's name on the passport to match those of your educational certificates. UNLESS, you can attach an affidavit which states that the two names are the same person. For that, you may have to first put an advertizement in the local newspaper as well (legally). I am not sure how it works in your country, but if you can prove through an affidavit that both these names are of the same person, it will help.

An affidavit would do here. Couple years ago, my US green Card process was about to start and the attorney I was working with wanted my original birth certificate. But my name is completely different in that document. She asked me to get that attested in a 'Revenue Stamp Paper'. I got that attested and submited the attested document to the attorney. Hope this helped.

Than you.
