Myself and my boyfriend would like to migrate to Nova Scotia.
I am a registered nurse in the UK. I understand that we may be eligible to apply via express entry under the skilled worker option. Are we able to apply as a couple?
How can we prove a common law relationship?
And how long will the whole application process take?
Thanks for any help.

To qualify as a common law couple you must prove that you have continuously lived together for a minimum of one full year. The kind of proof you will want to provide is joint leases/rental agreements or joint property ownership documents, joint utility bills, joint bank accounts / credit card statements listing the same address, pay stubbs cover a year listing the same address, etc. Ideally you should be able to provide several different kinds of proof to show you have cohabitated for a full year.

How long it takes will depend on how many points you have under Express Entry and how long it will take for your application to be selected. Have you calculated your points yet? If you have 450 or about, you will likely be done in 6-12 months. If you have fewer than 450 points, it's difficult to say at this point if you will be selected and when.
