Skilled Worker VS Provincial Nominees VS Express Entry

Hello All,

I need your help and suggestions.
I am a software engineer and I was intent to apply in the skilled worker program this year, but unfortunately I didn't get IELTS score needed (I got 5.5 in writing) and I am afraid that I will not catch the cap after retake the exam since the NOC that I intent to apply for is almost closed now (NOC 2174).

So I am thinking of "Provincial nominees" program or waiting for the express entry in the next year. But my problem that I don't know anything about any of them or which is better for me.

I will appreciate if you give me your opinion and recommendations.

Regards,

My preference would be FSWP, can you share your detail profile.

Thanks "The Super King".

Of course I would also prefer FSWP but as I mentioned I will not reach the cap (officially till now NOC 2174 have 481 application, and according to fsw2014.info it is almost closed).
So the probability to apply under FSWP this year is almost zero and for that I am thinking about other options like "Provincial Nominees" or "Express Entry" (starting Jan 2014 express entry supposed to replace FSWP as I understand).

Provincial nominees takes time. Better wait for Express entry. Also try to get a good score in IELTS as that will be needed in EE for sure.

Express entry will replace a number of PR programs including not only FSWP but also PNPs. If you are applying from outside of Canada, it is difficult to get provincial nomination but it is possible. You would have to go to the websites of individual province and figure out if you qualify as every province has its own rules and criteria. people with provincial nomination will find it easier to get invitation to apply for PR once the express entry kicks in, so it's worth trying.

BUT, you would probably fare better if you took another IELTS to try to improve your score since express entry will be more competitive and the more points you have, the better off you are likely to be.

Also, since you are 2174, have you looked at other NOCs starting with 217 (like 2171, 2173 etc) to see if you qualify for them?

Hi Guys,

I am going to apply for Express Entry but I am confused about PN (province nominee). What is this? My brother is in alberta. I want to know if he can sponsor me or not? Can anybody please let me know how and who can come under PN? If I want to apply under Express Entry how can I get 600 score by PN?

I was reading on cic website and I saw a line written there "be nominated by a specific Canadian province or territory".

I am not sure about PN means for Alberta. I hope someone definitely know the answer.

Thanks,
Mona

Check AINP website for Alberta nominee programs. Mostly you may require LMO approved job in Alberta.
