i have been through all of the websites i think i understand rehabilitation, i understand that is 5 years after i was off probation. does any one know if that is always the case? i am also wondering if being a skilled worker, i am a carpenter, if that may help me out in anyway? sorry one more question, does anyone know any thing about a waiver of exclusion? i have only heard of them i was told i may be able to get one of those before i am considered rehabilitated. but that is the problem i have gotten a thousand maybes but no definates plus i live 1000 miles from the border so its not like i can just take an hour and drive to the border and see what happens.

my fiance is from and lives in toronto, i have a job waiting on me with her step father, i just keep running into brick walls, so any info is well appreciated. thanks so much.

Rehabilitation must be applied for - it's not automatic after 5 years. And your occupation won't help you. If you want to know whether you are eligible for rehabilitation at this time, you should complete the rehabilitation application, check "For Information Only," and take it to your nearest Canadian consulate/embassy. The officer will give you a free opinion.

The form and instructions are here:
