Hi!just want to inquire the processing time of PR application under Skilled Worker-arranged employment opinion. my husband is currently working in Canada, he applied for the PR and upon checking with the site they received our application April 2010 and received email last august informing him to forward other necessary documents for submission to Buffalo December 2010 for final determination, but as of today there's no update in the site. will buffalo visa office update the status of our application on their website?and do anyone know how long will be the processing time in buffalo?

many thanks in advance ;)

you will get your 2nd AOR (Ack of Recpt) in 4-6 months of sending to buffalo. It will take another 6-8 months for Medical. Once medical is complete it will take 2-4 months for Passport request. This is whats been happening for a long time now.

yes, buffalo VO is slow. Actually they are super slow, slower than most of the VOs. Patience is all you need to have now. Since you submitted your full docs in Dec 2010, you can expect the process to be closed by May-June 2012.

Good Luck!

thanks, well it will really take 12 to 18 months :(
all the while we thought it will only take a year and a half from the 1st stage application plus my husband applied for the AEO we thought it will help... anyways, will it be ok to apply for a visit visa and wait for our application's approval in Canada?

For a visitor visa, you will have to convince the VO that you will leave after the term (6 months). Which in your case is tough and no use. Since yours is AEO, you can ask your employer to apply for LMO and WP and travel to canada in WP. Where is your Visa Office?

i see,my husband submitted the full docs to buffalo last December 2010, he have been working in Canada since 2008,i guess it is better to apply first for a spousal visa and just process PR application once the family is already in Canada instead of applying PR directly since spousal visa accdg to many will only take 6 months processing period. but it is too late in our case...

thanks thanks for the info at least now we know the estimated time frame of our application.

It is not too late to apply for a visa.

1. Did your husband add you in his PR application, if yes, no change in PR process is needed.
2. Since your husband's PR is in process and he is still in WP, you can apply for spousal visa anytime, and PR appl in process would not affect this.
3. Based on your husband's NOC you may be eligible for open work permit.

I initially thought that you and your husband are outside of canada and want to come to canada to wait for PR process, which is why I said no use apply for visitor visa. But your case is not visitor, you are a spouse of a work permit holder, this falls in a different category.

I would say it is BEST if you apply for spousal visa, travel to canada so that you need not stay away from your husband, and miss him so much :D

thanks much :) we will try to apply for a spousal visa praying to have it approve. thanks again
