Skilled Worker Application - After 02/2008 - Simplified Delay

Hi ppl

I wont help regarding following matters

1. I have applied for FSW New simplified process on July 2008. Thus it has been 16 months I still have not heard anything from Canadian immigration
PPL. On March 2009, my application has been transferred from Sri lankan office to Central intake Sydney Canada. Application status remains in
"Application Received Status". can any one tell me is this normal or how long i have to wait for a answer. (I have seen Under new simplified
process applications being processed in 6 to 12 months)

2. Can i Do TOEFL to prove my English competency? How much I need to Score get the maximum marks?

3.To prove French Language Ability Do i must do TEF Exam. Or is there a other way. (I have certificates other than TEF to prove)

Please help me I'm really confused

You should contact the visa office to see what is your dely.

IELTS is the best way to show English proficiency.
TEF is the best way to show French proficiency. Remember it also depends on how much you want to claim. If you want to claim one point and you have many certificates to show that, then they'd probably give that to you.

i applied in June 2008 and am still waiting for my Medicals. In fact i was not issued the AOR till date. Am about to write them next week after Christmas.

Thnaks fro the reply. I was rather planning to do TOEFL because in IELTS there are two streams. one fro the ppl go for the studies and another one for the ppl immigrate. In future if i wonted to do Higher Studies in Canada, I would have to do IELTS again. Is'n TOEFL accepted any more?

I have 68 marks in the online assessment. this is without french. As i have not spoken in french since my academic work (2002) now its vey rusty. I have done a beginners course at AQUINAS. Will that be enough to what i wont

They say other tests can be used to backup your argument for language proficiency but in reality, they want IELTS. Sorry.

if i were you, i would add 1 or 2 french points but make sure that is not what takes you over 67.

Thanks. I have 68 without having any points from French.

What i wont to know is, to get this 1-2 points cant i do it with the certificate i have from AQUINAS Sri Lanka?

I am in a similar position widuralatest.
My application was rcd in New Delhi in March 2008. My application got transfered to Nova Scotia in March 2009.
It has been more than 22 months now with nothing but "Appliation Rcd Status".
I have also submitted AEO but no update even after that. I have now decided to order CAIPS notes to get some information. However, with no status of initial eligibility review also done, I am not sure if CAIPS will help! No harm in trying, I say!!!
I think persistance and patience will pay....hoping for the best for all of us in this New Year!

It looks like most visa offices are going slow with the applicants from Mar to Dec 2008, except for Buffalo. Before ordering your CAIPS, why don't you email Delhi office first.

I did send an email enquiry to the Delhi office and rcd a templatized response saying my file is at CIO sydney and Delhi office can't provide any information. Therefore, I am requested to wait to be contacted directly by CIO sydney. I am waiting...and waiting...

Was there any response from Sydney office since we haven't even rcd an AEO.

Do you mean an AOR or AEO?

I read somewhere on this forum that Sydney, doesn't answer to email so if you could find their fax number, send them a fax or send them a letter asap. Also, Sydney nowadays is emailing out the AOR so perhaps check your spam folder.

Hopefully someone will have better suggestions than mine. Good luck.

I have sent a postal letter to Sydney in early Dec 09. But no reply.
I have an AEO but even with that there is no 'fast-tracking' to my application.
I haven't even rcd a call for complete document submission since 2 years.
