The whole program in BC is called GLP which stands for graduated licensing program. All the other provinces have similar programs but they call them different names. If you have a look at the link I posted, you can see that the first step in BC is called L which stands for learner, the 2nd stage is called N for novice and the full license is called a class 5 full license.
In SK, they don't call the program GLP, they call it GDL which stands for Graduated Driver's Licensing. The names for the licenses there are Novice 1 (
Learner in BC) and Novice 2 (
Novice in BC) and after that a class 5 full license.
In Ontario, the learner stage is called G1, the novice stage is called G2 and the full license is called G.
In AB, the learner is class 7, novice is class 5-GDL and the full license is class 5.
In MB, the learner is class 5L (for Learner), the novice is class 5I (for Intermediate) and the full license is class 5F (for Full)
