situation specific question about imm5532e - Spousal Sponsorship

Question about Part C question 9 in imm5532e.
9. Were there formal ceremonies or events to recognize or celebrate your relationship, e.g., engagement ceremony, traditional or customary marriage ceremony, commitment ceremony, partnership ceremony, reception, honeymoon, etc.? If no, explain why not.

My spouse and I had a civil marriage. We had a honeymoon in Thailand afterwards. Our wedding ceremony/banquet in early March with our friends/family got indefinitely postponed due to Covid 19. I did have an engagement party with my childhood friends before I came to China to get married.

Am I correct in assuming we would select "yes" when answering this question and list our honeymoon and my bachelor party? Bachelorette parties are not a part of Chinese culture so my wife didn't have one.

Then following where it asks:
Did any of the following people go to any of the events above?.....
If any of the people listed above did not participate, explain why

If my mother procured the steaks, drinks, the cake, and cutlery and helped me pack the car for my bachelor party does that count as her attending? In this section is it appropriate to also explain how our wedding ceremony/banquet was postponed due to Covid 19 and my spouse's parents were blocked from leaving their town?

You list your civil ceremony and honeymoon. Don't mention a bachelor party. That is not the type of "celebration" that they are looking for. And of course that doesn't count as your mother attending. Just leave it out.

If her parent's couldn't attend the civil ceremony, then yes, mention that here. It is not the place to mention the COVID-19 postponement. Include a separate letter of explanation.
