situation at airport, me nd my girlfrien on different visas..?? seniors can help

Hi guys.....
My girlfriend has got study visa, and I've a visitor visa.. we are going to canada next week for first time..
Here is the situation..
I have heard students MUST go through 2 immigration officers (the 1st will check your visa and everything and stamp it, the 2nd will issue your study permit) before going to collect the luggage. While on the other hand, me as I don't need study permit, so will I still need to go through the 2nd officer as well?
If I can go straight to collect my luggage after the 1st officer, can my girlfriend also joins me to collect the luggage after she visits the 1st officer only, so that I don't have to wait for her for her study permit issuing,, and also we can collect the luggage together?

Any information will be helpful..

Are you going to be staying with her the whole time she is studying? If you are, you can get a work permit.

No, we are not. Actually shes my girlfriend's friend.. she needs me when we are collecting the luggage and then we are on our own way..
Can she just come with me to collect the luggage after she is been checked by the 1st officer.. OR students CAN'T just pass to the luggage collection point until you are checked through all the immigration 1st and 2nd immigration officers??

Anyone who has experience entry in airport might be able to answer..

She will have to go through the process of having her study permit issued before she will be able to collect her luggage.

U can wait for her outside til she comes out,, then u two can collect ur luggage, he has to go though 2nd officer for permit first ,,,
