SINP- Student Stream Field of study job offer requirement

Hello,

I hold a 1-year Continuing Care Assistant certificate from Saskatchewan Polytechnic and want to apply under the Student Stream. I can’t apply to studentstream cuz now health care applicants must apply to Health talent pathway. However, the new Health Talent Pathway requires two years of study, and while my NOC codes (33102 and 44101) align with my field of study, I don’t qualify due to my 1-year program.
My employer is willing to support me, and we’ve identified NOC 42201 (Social and Community Service Workers) as a possible alternative. While it’s not directly healthcare-related, many duties overlap with my studies, and my employer is willing to adjust the job duties to match.
Does anyone know how closely a job offer needs to align with my field of study for SINP approval? Any guidance would be appreciated!

So are you doing the job of a social worker or not? Seems like employer is willing to lie for you.

For the NOC, you need
  • Completion of a college or university program in social work, child and youth care, psychology or other social science or health-related discipline is usually required.
Continuing care certificate is about being a home care worker, not social worker.

Not actually lying cuz a lot of stuff mentioned under this noc is what i am doing. CCA is not just about personal care, they teach us about community, communication, observing, reporting, Sociology and more.

But do you have a diploma or degree in the NOC as mentioned above. Education must match NOC and CCA is not social worker.

I don’t see the match between a certificate as a PSW and being social worker. Assume employer posted the job for a social worker, and couldn’t hire anyone with the education or work experience.

Thanks for your guidance! Can I apply under International skilled worker employment offer pathway? There is no study requirement there and I currently hold a PGWP? assuming I gained 1yr work experience- and I already score 104 points there? Does this pathway work under express entry or non express entry?

With JAL and one year of experience in the NOC, then yes. It is not an EE stream.

Read the requirements based on your profile. If you are not sure then hire an immigration consultant or lawyer to go through each SINP program step by step. Remember that PNP quotas are cut in half so few nominations.
