Hi,

From various postings in this forum my understanding is that very few Canadian Missions answered to the enquiries over the counter. So, please let your wife try and if she get permission to meet any officials of the Immigration Section, she could get an answer. Otherwise no.

If you go there, you will notice that the only staff there is only a receptionist covered completely sealed off behind a glass wall. She is a local, not Canadian and cannot answer anything to the progress of the cases. Everyone else is shut behind a locked door in which no one is allowed to enter. You can't even see who's behind the door and I doubt any high commission staff would come out to talk to you. Even if you make an appointment they will not tell you whether you are approved or declined, nor will they tell you what stage of the process your application is in. So unless you have any documents or appeals to hand in, such as passport request, they will not entertain you. Even if you write in to ask them, they won't tell you the status of your case unless you have been approved, after which you'll get a letter asking for medicals, etc.

How is everyone's case doing right now going through Singapore? For me, I'm just still waiting. It's tough waiting for visa for our loved one, just want to start a new life together soon.

GGOOD congrats! How is your wife coping with Vancouver?

Well it must great to have finished your sponsorship process. For me it's still the same waiting game. I hope to receive good news soon. Anyone in the same situation? Fell free to contribute to this thread.
