Morning everyone,

I am going to meet with my employer to discuss if they can apply LMIA for me; I am currently working with them under NOC 2232 on my PGWP.

I was wondering what is the soul intent of LMIA for example me being an applicant for PR in EE under CEC I want those extra 600 Points but what is CIC's intent like are they trying to check: if the company is

legitimate and how strong of a company or its infrastructure is etc?

Please comment!

Thanks for the link.

One question still stands that if they employer does agree to apply for LMIA under which category would it be: Dual or the free one to support my PR?

I am confused about the wages aswell: I am currently working under NOC# 2232 making $20-$21/hour but when I check the job bank for 2232 for the area I am in it says the median is $28-$29/hour.....so does that

mean they'll have to pay me more to get a positive LMIA from wage perspective?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
the significance of LMIA is for the employer to prove that they cannot get a Canadian to do the job, that they need to hire a foreigner and that you are the person best suited to the position.
The wage is important, if you're not at least earning the median for your NOC and location it will immediately be declined. So yes you'll need a pay rise if you're going to try to get an LMIA.
Regarding which one you need to apply for, depends how long is left on your permit. If you have enough time to cover the application process you only need the free one to support your application, if you're going to run out of time and need a new permit, they need to apply for the $1000 one that comes with a work permit.
