My employer is doing an inter-company transfer to have me leave the US and work in Canada.

I understand that part of that process is they need to let me go from my US position and hire me for the Canadian position. What I cannot tell, from my own research, is if they require a job offer that I've signed to start that process.

Also, I read the ICT process with IRCC can take 1-10 weeks. Do I have to wait until that is all complete before I can move up there with my family?

Are you American? If not, job offer doesn’t let you work. Canadian office has to file and pay employer compliance fee to file for LMIA exemption. Once you have LMIA exemption you apply for a closed work permit.

How long have you worked for employer? NOC?
