Hello Everyone,

While signing the citizenship application form, does the signature needs to match with Driver's License or Passport or it does not matter?

I have different signature on Passport and different on Driver's License.

I have one signature, but depending on the occasion it can be either somewhat elaborate or a just a stylized scribbled version. Plus nowadays, many ID signatures are taken electronically with a stylus and look kind of funny as a result. The interviewer asked me to sign a blank piece of paper in front of him just to make sure I was who I said I was... I guess. It made no sense to me but whatever.

I forget what IDs you are required to submit with the application, but if possible send copies of IDs that have the same signature on them. If you can't, I'm sure they've seen many cases before where people adopt a western-style signature after moving to Canada.

Hello there,
I think the most important this is to sign your application. If they have concerns about your signature, they will ask you during interview. Just be ready to tell them what happens.

Wish you best of luck,
