Hi there:

We are getting ready to send all forms/documents/photos in for outland sponsorship/PR status. My daughter-in-law has sent her documents here (she is currently in Japan). I noticed she printed her "signature" on the form lines where her signature is required. We had all her official family documents, as required - translated to English by an official translator here in Canada.

Her signature on her passport is Japanese symbols - and I understand in Japan they sign with a stamp. She printed her name in English because of the requirement of having all family names on her family documents translated to English, and she thought this was best to do on the signature lines as well.

Does anyone know - Will CIC accept her printed signature on the forms or does she need to resend them all back with her signature stamp instead?

Thanks folks. All help is yet again - deeply appreciated.

I did signed my name in Korean on app forms and did not have any problem.

correct me if I am wrong, but her signature on her passport and on the form should be same

1. she just stamped on her passport as a signature then I don't think I would matter.

2. she put her name in Japanese and stamp, then not sure but VO might return the forms. (she doenst need to stamp on the form though)

if she would re do signature, she can sign in Japanese and English together.

hope other member give you more thought.
