But there are no points for siblings in CRS...

Try to check the FSW breakdown out of 100... that has 5 points for close relatives, but many people may get the required 67/100 without needing those 5 points... so check that first... then maybe we can tackle this question once we are 100% that we need it...

quote:Who you can sponsor

You can sponsor:

-brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, or grandchildren who are orphaned, are under 18 and do not have a spouse or common-law partner,

-relatives of the above (for example, spouse, partner and dependent children) who will come with them to Canada, or

You can sponsor one relative of any age or relationship, but only if you do not have one of these living relatives who could be sponsored as a member of the family class:

-spouse or common-law partner,
-conjugal partner,
-son or daughter,
-parent,
-grandparent,
-sibling, or
-uncle, aunt, nephew or niece, and

you do not have any relative who is a:

-Canadian citizen,
-permanent resident or
-registered Indian under the Indian Act.

Who you cannot sponsor

You cannot sponsor other relatives, such as brothers and sisters over 18, or adult children who support themselves financially.

If they apply to immigrate under the Skilled Worker Class, they may get extra points for having a relative in Canada.

This is sponsorship that you have written about... though you are correct with the hint, but I'm not sure if sponsoring her brother's wife is the same as her getting points.. it should be... but once again, before you begin to worry tooo much about it, are you 100% that you need this? are you getting 67/100?

No she's not under your family's line of consanguinity.

The farthest blood relation is the principal applicant's uncle or aunt

What you quoted instead are the Family Class rules for sponsorships. This is a different immigration scheme. Family Class is not covered by Express Entry.
To be clear, there are no "sponsorships" under Federal Skilled Worker, but points of adaptability. If that's the case, if your wife will be the principal applicant, she indeed can claim adaptability points (5 points) with your brother in the FSW point system. I think this is what your consultant was telling you.

Relatives do not count for points in the Express Entry CRS point system.

Dear bellaluna and all
thanks for providing such important details but FSW is also a part of express entry isn`t it?? and my wife is gonna apply through this...

How Express Entry works

Express Entry is used to manage applications for permanent residence under these federal economic immigration programs:

the Federal Skilled Worker Program,
the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and
the Canadian Experience Class.

Provinces and territories can also recruit candidates from the Express Entry system through their Provincial Nominee Programs to meet local labour market needs.

Ministerial Instructions set out the rules for governing the Express Entry application management system.

The Express Entry system has two steps:

Yes, FSW is part of Express Entry.
I just pointed out that the rules in your reply #4 was not for FSW but for family sponsorship, which is an entirely different method of immigration. You are mixing up two different immigration categories.

But bottom line again, your wife can declare your brother in FSW. :)
