Please need advice
1. Passport Application:
My sister’s surname (and our parents’ names in her documents) has an extra letter “m” compared to mine and our parents’ official surname. She hasn’t applied for a passport yet. Does she need to legally change her name, or will a notarized affidavit explaining the discrepancy be enough?
2. PR Points for Sibling in Canada:
She plans to study in Canada and may later apply for PR, claiming sibling points. Will the surname discrepancy cause issues? Can an affidavit suffice, or is a name correction necessary?
Your advice on whether a name change is needed or if an affidavit will work for both passport and PR applications would be greatly appreciated.
