Dear Friends

I have received my ITA on 2nd of October. I have also entered all my details as required. However, I am confused about following two points:

1. I am not claiming any foreign experience points for my wife's work history, since she is not primary applicant. Do I still need to mention her work history details in my application.

2. I have almost 5 years of work experience in my nominated occupation at my current job only. Do I need to enter job experience for my past jobs as well. Job experience letter for one of my past job is not possible to obtain as I was on contract job for 6 months and my contractor has just vanished. I dont know where he is now and the company for which i worked will not give me any letter.

Moreover, My NOC was different for that job as well. Hence mentioning that job may not be useful.

I can provide experience letter from my current employer. Will my work expereince at current job (almost 5 years) suffice the requirements ?

please guide

Regards

Not needed. Just mention it in personal history.

2. I have almost 5 years of work experience in my nominated occupation at my current job only. Do I need to enter job experience for my past jobs as well. Yes. Recheck if you can get to at least 67/100 on the basis of getting 13 points for work experience. If you can get there, no need to mention any other work experience other than this one.

please guide

Dear Asivad Anac

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply.

However, you said that in case my experience from my current job fetches me 67 points out of 100, then I don't need to show experience from my past jobs. But, since 67 points system is no more in practice by CIC. Please guide me where I can check if I have 67 points or more using my experience from my current job, while not using my past experience.

67/100 is still the basic eligibility criteria for FSW. EE is just the overall layer on top of that.

Check FSW grid here ---> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

Dear Asivad Anac

With reference to the FSW grid provided by your good self in your last post, my points as per 67/100 system are 77 points, since I am getting 13 points for job experience (my current job). I hope that would be fine. Isn't it Sir ?

Hi.
I have also received my ITA on 2-Oct and in my document check-list under the employment section it asks for a reference letter which must include ... "your name, the company’s contact information (address, telephone number and e-mail address), the signature of your immediate _____?? ".
Most likely it is supervisor but it seems to be an incomplete sentence. Pls clarify.

Also, what are the chances that CIC would contact our employer for an employment verification? Does it happen for every applicant? Not that I am trying to fudge details but there are some issues regarding disclosing my application status with my current employer right now.

Would highly appreciate your advise!

Thx

It is indeed supervisor.

CIC can, and does, conduct extensive background checks if they have suspicions about anything in a candidate's history. As long as you're telling the truth in your application, there should not be a problem.

Would highly appreciate your advise!

Thx

This clarifies matters surely.
I was hoping I would not need to disclose this to my supervisor. But I guess I would have to. Its better not to take a risk at this stage!

Thanks a ton for your help Asivad!
