Should we translate non-English police reports from foreign countries?

Hi,

I grew up in Egypt and moved to to the US in 2007.

I'll be visiting Egypt in two weeks and will get police reports from there for my wife and myself. It'll be issued in Arabic. I'm assuming i need to translate the reports to English, correct? If so, would you please advise on where and how? Any info will be highly appreciated.

Hello Sherif,

Yes, it needs to be translated and the translator should provide an affidavit that he/she is a registered sworn translator. In some Middle Eastern countries the Canadian embassy may have a list of translators which can be used.
