Should I wait to apply?

I recently renewed my PR card and while I think I accounted for all of my various excursions across the border into Buffalo or Detroit (maybe twice a year or so), I may well have missed one or two, which would have just been a same-day in and out, probably to take a kid to the airport, as it's cheaper to fly out of Buffalo or Detroit than Toronto. Anyways, the PR card renewal was approved, no problem.

During my reading's of the forum, it seemed like it may be more stringent for the Citizenship application to not have any misses at all. So, I have filed FOIA's with both countries in an effort to see if there are any trips across the border that I've not accounted for. I understand, and was prepared to wait, that there was a 1-2 month wait for the info to come back.

However, I'm now feeling the urgency to apply sooner than later so as to get in front of the new legislation that is relaxing the residency requirements, as it's certainly going to promote a massive influx of applications and I don't really want a long process.

Thoughts? Would a missed day trip or two really trip up the application process? I do otherwise have 2187 days in Canada.

Thanks in advance.

Missing a trip or 2 is only an issue when you don't have enough days in Canada, or its close to the criteria (1460 days).
You got plenty so go ahead and apply right away.

I missed a whole trip not just a day and had no problem. Having enough buffer is essential. I would file now.

Thank you. Moving forward asap. Just need to wait for a high school transcript from my American school to prove my English language skills. I thought about just taking the test and being done with it, but $185? Forget it... lol

Yes.. you can take the test and dont worry about transcripts .. It takes about two weeks after the test to get results in the mail..there may be an option to get results faster, if you pay extra fees..
