Should I send my passport now??

Hello all,

I've just received an email from High Commision of Canada says that they are sending a letter and instructions to me today asking me to submit passport for visa issuance. Should I submit it now or wait until receiving the letter?

Wait until you get the letter.

The instructions should tell you. With Buffalo you can submit right away after receiving the email. Other diplomatic posts may vary.

If you know how and where to send, I'd send it now.

I got my PPR in an email (this was through Vienna though). I sent the passport the next day. I received the letter requesting the passport the next week, after my passport had already reached the embassy. So I saved myself a couple of days by sending it right away.

I picked my passport up in person and landed 2 days after I got the email passport request, and never even received a written one.

there can be some important info in the letter, like adding pictures, etc. I would wait for the letter or contact them by email asking if it's ok to send the passport tight now.

The email should contain that information as well. Mine did.

The email is just notifying, not PPR though. It does not tell me what I should submit. Post service in Vietnam is extremely slow. It will take almost 2 weeks for getting the letter. And yes, it is frustrating me. Does anyone know what it's supposed to come along with passport? Or I just send passport alone?

if they has already made decision on your case, the only things they usually ask for are passports and sometimes photos.
in our case they asked just for passports.

if you wish to send the passport now I would consider sending pictures too - just in case.

What are pictures anyway? Is it a passport photos? They asked me to submit 4 recent passport photos before and definitely I did. What pictures you are mentioning?

that's what sound confusing - they mention passport photos. just wander what these passport photos sizes are. usually they ask for standard size 35 mm x 45 mm.

I don't remember what size passport photos are. They asked me to send those photos last month with the request of paying landing fee.

I got an email from IO today. They advice me not to sent passport now and wait for the letter 'cause I need to complete Appendix A and sent it together with my passport. What is it anyway?
