Should i extend my visitor visa with an Inland OWP application

I submitted my spousal sponsorship inland application and it was delivered on August 29th but it was returned on Oct. 5 because it was missing my hand-written signature on Schedule A.. My visitor visa expires on Dec 31, 2018, if re-submit it now and my application has OWP, will it be enough time to earn implied status?

IRCC must receive your application package before Dec 31, 2018 for you to earn implied status and be eligible for OWP approval.....you may also apply for visa extension to be safe in case of another application return.

Agreed. An extension is a cheap insurance policy if you end up with your application returned.
