I have scored 7.5 overall band(L-8.5, R-7, W-7, S-7.5) in IELTS. If I am correct, I have a CLB 9 score. Besides, my ECA evaluation has been completed successfully.

The CRS tool makes my score as 435, however, as per the latest trend in CRS draws, the minimum score required is around 441. I think my only options to increase my score are to get a valid job offer and/or get provincial nomination.
  1. Should I apply for Express Entry program or Provincial Nomination program, such has OINP?
  2. Do I need to create a Express Entry profile before applying for Provincial Nomination?
  3. I have taken help from a consultancy for my IELTS training and WES evaluation. Now they want to get my profile created for a fee, as usual. Is it a good idea to create Express entry profile on my own?
  4. During the express entry profile creation process, do I need to submit a fee? When do I actually have to pay a fee to the Canadian govt. at this stage?
  5. Do I need to submit any proof of funds during my profile creation process?

Answer to questions:

(1) not very familiar with all PNP but for OINP I believe they send the NOI to you in your account after you create your express entry profile if they’re interested in you.

(2)yes you do

(3) create the profile on your own because it’s not hard to do and any questions you have, you can find the answers on the forum. Save your money.

(4) no fee to create the EE profile. Only fee is after you’re selected and sent an ITA then you need to submit your PR application then you will have to pay a fee.

(5) no you do not need to submit proof of funds during your profile creation only if you’re selected.

6. Do you think I should give IELTS again a my tentative score 435 is lower than the last draw cutoff, i.e., 442? Besides, I was thinking of giving TEF as getting a CLB 7 or more in TEF will give me extra 30 points. What do you think?

7. If I do get an ITA and I do not have enough funds, what if I ask somebody to deposit the funds required in my account , to show proof of funds?

If you're planning on giving IELTS again, make sure all your modules are above CLB 10. You will get additional 6 points and it will bump your score to 441. You could get lucky this year if you wait it out.

You don't get 30 points for simply giving TEF. You need to score minimum CLB 7 (please reconfirm). If you've never studied French, it's not an easy language to learn and can take upto one year of dedicated training to get a level you can score CLB 7 overall. So weigh your options wisely.

7. If I do get an ITA and I do not have enough funds, what if I ask somebody to deposit the funds required in my account , to show proof of funds?
Yes you can do that. Execute a gift deed in your favour. There are more detailed write-ups on this matter on other threads.

I agree that you should try to get the max IELTS but if you’re comfortable enough with French and can attempt TEF that would be great to secure an ITA.

Yes someone can gift you the funds by you would need to get a gift deed notarized. You can google a sample gift deed or find information about it on the forum.

OINP invites you under HCP stream: http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL_HOW.html
For OINP yes, please check other PNP programs here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...e-canada/provincial-nominees/eligibility.html
You can spend some time here and create the profile on your own. I would suggest you to go for another IELTS test, there is a huge room you can improve in Reading and Speaking which will shoot your score beyond the 440+ mark
No, pay when only when you get an invitation(ITA) from express entry then submit your PR application n pay the fee
No, only when you get an invitation(ITA) from express entry you have gather your documents one of which is PoF and then submit your PR application

Yes Varun , I am still a beginner in French. And yes, scoring a CLB 7 requires a lot of practice. So, should I create my profile and try to score in IELTS again? I could update my profile later if I score above CLB 10.

My other option is then to try to get a job offer supported by LMIA. Do you know if it's feasible to apply from India to get accepted by Canadian software companies?
If possible, can you redirect me to a thread which has some examples of people getting job offers from Canada while sitting here in India? If I am correct, then I would gain 50 points, right?

Does somebody know people here from India who got job offers from Canada while applying for EE? I want to get a job in Software Testing/QA field.

a lot of practice and work. i've seen some of the TEF questions and some do require some native fluency.
for the job offer it's pretty hard to get it before you move

I second this

I know people in testing/QA field who have already landed in Canada and are jobless for the past 6 months.

There almost no chance that companies will hire outside Canada candidates. It is not an easy process. Moreover Canadian job market has plenty of candidates waiting for QA jobs.

There's no way you can get more than CLB10 ;)

At the risk of being pedantic, let me point out that although there are no extra points awarded, there are categorisations above CLB 10.

As people have already said, Canada is seeing loads of IT engineers landing everyday. With your status, it would be almost impossible to secure a job in your profile.

You might find some old threads in this site, and yes if it qualifies as a valid job offer, you'll get 50 points.
