Should i call embassy?

I have applied on 28th Oct. at vfs ahmedabad but tilll date no any response from embassy. I sent mail to consulate banglore where my file is being processed but no reply from them. my course will start from 2nd jan 2017 so should i call to consulate banglore regarding my application???
