Hi,

I got my PR status reinstated in 2012 and received a new PR card in October after having arrived here.

I now want to travel outside Canada to visit family. Is that a good idea? When I come back, can the authorities issue a removal order against me because i do not totally meet he residency obligations of living 2 years here.

Should I be traveling outside canada?

Please suggest the best course of action.

Thanks

Sherry

1. Not a good idea.
2. Yes, on re-entry you can be reported for failing to meet your PR residency obligations.

As you stated that you have recently had your PR reinstated, you will almost certainly have a big flag on your profile. I would suggest that this will make you more likely to be questioned on your return than the 'average' traveller.
