All,

I am on work visa in USA and I have got my police clearance and other documents ready and was planning to post the canadian immig. documents(skilled category) in a day or two, but i read on this website that the laws are changing and I should better wait..

I have 3 questions:

1. I wanna know Is the wait worth, as my clearance certificates will expire(3 month validity) and also my occupation might not be in the 38 that will come .

2. Does a programmer/analyst falls under the job types right now which can apply for immigration in skilled worker category right now?

3. Also, does anyone know how is the Alberta province(considering its pnp there) for Software /IT jobs and climate? I heard its always chilly there...

Thanks in advance for help..

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
1. It's up to you to decide. If you do the skilled application and pay the fees for it, if you are not on the wish list, you will eventually be refunded. If you are on the wish list, your certificates will still be good and you will have your toe in the door.

2. There is no right now. The new rules are already applied to applications received since February even though the new rules have not been published yet. Strange I know.

3. Alberta is cold in winter and warm in summer. You might have a couple of days a year where it goes below -35C and you might have a couple of days in the summer where it goes above 35C. You should go to job search websites to see what the job market is like in IT and more specific in your field. If you are on a H1B visa in the US, you can use the H1B program in AB to get PR directly. It does not mean that you have to live in AB forever. You could try it out for a year, see if you like it, if not, move somewhere else.
