Should I apply For PR Before Or After Divorce

I am a married woman, and in short time going to file divorce. My passport has my husband's surname. Should I wait for divorce and name change in passport and then apply for Canada PR or can I apply now?

Depends on how quickly you want the pr.

You can apply before divorce. But for this your spouse needs to co-operate and get medicals and PCC done. This would be the fastest.

You can apply during divorce proceedings. You will have to submit necessary legal documents.

After divorce will take the longest because divorce takes long in India.

You will have to take a no.of things into consideration, like how long the procedure for divorce and your readiness to wait till then. For any status a document is required.
If you apply as married, you will have to provide, spouse pcc and medicals.
If you have children, their custody arrangement and your spouse agreement to have them moved to Canada in case you are filing for divorce.
