Should I apply for Citizenship with my wife

Hello,

My wife and I are both permanent residents, we both landed at the same time. I was living in Canada before becoming PR for 5 years but my wife has lived in Canada just after receiving her PR. With the new laws that will count my presence in Canada before permanent resident (for up to 1 year), I will meet the requirements of Citizenship, but my wife will need another year to meet the requirements of physical presence. Which of the following options you think is better for my case:

Option 1: I apply now and she apply later.

Option 2: wait for one more year so both of us have enough physical presence and apply at the same application package.

Option 3: I apply for both of us now and sponsor her.

Thanks

Bill C6 has not yet been passed, so the new rules aren't yet in effect. Further, once it has been passed, there is no guarantee that the new residency requirements (e.g., credit for pre-PR time) will be implemented immediately. So, you should likely wait until you qualify and then determine what your best course of action is.

Also, Option 3 doesn't make sense. If she's already a PR, what would you sponsor her for?

You should apply before her as soon as you clearly meet the requirements (including a sufficient buffer of physical presence days). You don't know what will happen in the future and the sooner one of you is a citizen the better for both of you. I don't know what you mean by "sponsor her"? If she is already a PR, why would she need to be sponsored? You cant sponsor someone for citizenship. They have to meet the requirements on their own.
