I have been present and working legally in Canada since the beginning of 2011 in a job class that is included in the Experience Class criteria.

I applied to Ottawa for PR under PNP in July 2013. The process seems to be taking longer than normal to process.

I have recently read that some people apply through more than one stream at a time, in case they lose eligibility in mid-stream of one process.

Would it be a good idea for me to also apply under Economic Class, in case I lose my current job before my PnP stream application is finally approved (and therefore lose my work permit, right to remain and PnP eligibility)?

If you can afford it, you increase your chances of being accepted...

If you have the money it wouldnt hurt , however if your confident that your other application will get approved then sit tight
