Hi, can anyone give me a rough idea of how much I can expect to fork out for shipping maybe 3 pallets of boxes to Toronto. Most of the online quote calculators ask you to compile quite a detailed list to give you a quote, and I just don't know what's going or not just yet. It would be helpful to know what the approximate cost of about or 3 or 4 cubic metres might be....

Anyone recently shipped this sort of volume that can shed some light for me?

You might want to check with this poster:

Hi there awilliams,

We have gone with excessbaggage.com as we are not shipping any furniture, they provide free packaging material and have been the most competitive. :)

Hi Mhut, thanks for the tip. I've actually requested a quote from them. We are not shipping furniture either, it will be just lots of boxes of our personal effects. Approx what was the volume of the goods you shipped and what cost? I'm trying to budget for out move, having just come off maternity leave, every penny counts!!! So a real figure would be helpful.

Hi there, I have PM'd you a messege :)

Hi there,

Our goods arrived in 5 weeks although they had told us 8-12 weeks. The cost was around 870 pounds for 28 boxes weighing 35kg each.

Did you take tv etc too.
As for tv they telling that if I need insurance I need to do wooden cart which cost extra 65 £. N

Plus for 10 box they quote me approx 550 £

Hi there,
Yes we did take TV and we built our own crate for the TV so did not cost extra. The price of the shipment will depend on the sizes of your boxes and weight. we opened our boxes and not one broken item:)

Hi,

Did your UK tv work in Canada. My understanding is that European made electrical appliances e.g TV do not work in Canada. Please share your experience.

Hi

Yes it did, we got a step-up/step down converter for it :)

Thanks. Do you mind sharing what make/brand is your TV? We have a 50inches LG plasma that we just bought last year. We think it would be great if we can bring it over but we don't want to go through the trouble if it will not work in Canada.

Thanks

Ours is a Samsung :)
