Hi all,
I need to ship a container of household items from New Zealand. Has anyone got recommendations for shipping companies from first-hand experience please?

You probably would get more responses if you posted your query at http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=33

Did you ask Hookers?

No, not yet. I'm trying to get some idea of which are good, bad or indifferent from people's first-hand experiences. Getting quotes isn't a huge issue, getting quotes from companies that people have found to be reliable is what I'm interested in.

I'm having problems organising shipping of my household goods. The biggest problem is that we are shipping back two Canadian canoes that we originally shipped over here. The canoes have to be packed in cradles in crates that are made from certified timber. We sourced the right timber and are able to get the crates for $600 each all up. Removal companies I have contacted won't accept owner-packed items and want to crate the canoes themselves. The cheapest quote just for the canoe crates has come in at $5200 each!!!

I tried Hookers, as polara69 suggested and their quote is just ridiculous. So, if anyone has experience to share and could point me to a reliable shipping agent I'd appreciate it. We are moving to Montreal.
