I am an employer of a temporary foreign live-in caregiver, and I have recently had some changes in my life and do not need my nanny full time.
We love our nanny and she loves working with us and we do not want to lose her.
My question: Can I legally share the 40hours with another family?
Please advise!

No, you cannot. She is legally authorized to work for you only. If you change her hours of work (i.e., switch to part-time), you would be violating the terms of the LMO and if she agreed to the change, she'd be violating the terms of her work permit. If another family hired her part-time, they would be charged with illegal hiring of a foreign national. All these violations pertain to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and are subject to penalties laid out in the Act.
