Hi,

I would like to apply for MS(Computer Science) in University of Ottawa. I have done my BSCS(1 year) from Saginaw Valley State University, MI,USA in 2004. Done BCS(hons) in 2002. After completing BSCS, i came back to pakistan and started my job in 2005 till date. Now i would like to apply for MS. What do u people think a gap of seven years, will there be any chances of me getting study permit. As per one consultant my case is very weak and i have 25% chance of getting visa.

Waiting for your comments.

I don't think that's going to be a problem. Admission committees always welcome applicants with work experiences (even some programs have minimum requirement of 2 years or work experience). Plus since you are aiming for MSc in Computer Science, your experience will count heavily and should be able to secure a noteworthy scholarship too. But you have to write about the experiences and achievements you have earned during these period. Consultants always say such things and don't be demotivated by such comments. Yes 2/3 years of gap without any job experience is a bad thing but work experience (esp in technical programs) are always a plus!
